Midland Innovation + Technology Charter School (MITCS), located in Midland, Pennsylvania, would like to welcome Dr. Vanessa Avon as their new School Principal.
Dr. Avon holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: French and a Minor in Women’s Studies (Clarion University ‘99), a master’s degree in Educational Leadership (York College ‘09) and a doctoral degree in School Systems Leadership (Widener University ’19). With a distinguished career in education spanning over 25 years, Dr. Avon brings a wealth of experience across urban, suburban, and rural school settings. She began her career teaching French in Baltimore County Schools, Maryland. In Pennsylvania, Dr. Avon has decades of service as teacher, assistant principal, and building principal at several school districts across Pennsylvania including Spring Grove, Central Dauphin, West York, North Clarion County, and Cheltenham Township. She is thrilled to return home to Pittsburgh and serve as Principal at MITCS.
