Terrence A. Smith

Mr. Smith comes from the Woodland Hills School District in suburban Pittsburgh where he worked in a variety of administrative positions since 2015 including Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and, most recently, Assistant Principal of the Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy. Prior to his years at Woodland Hills, he served at the Southwestern Institute For Technology, Community College of Allegheny County, Mercy Behavioral Health Systems, the Wilkinsburg and Sto-Rox school districts, and at Summit Academy. A native of Aliquippa, he is a 1987 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania where he played and coached basketball. He earned his Master of Education Administration at the University of Pittsburgh in 2009.

Dr. Vanessa Avon

Dr. Avon holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: French and a Minor in Women’s Studies (Clarion University ‘99), a master’s degree in Educational Leadership (York College ‘09) and a doctoral degree in School Systems Leadership (Widener University ’19). With a distinguished career in education spanning over 25 years, Dr. Avon brings a wealth of experience across urban, suburban, and rural school settings. She began her career teaching French in Baltimore County Schools, Maryland. In Pennsylvania, Dr. Avon has decades of service as teacher, assistant principal, and building principal at several school districts across Pennsylvania including Spring Grove, Central Dauphin, West York, North Clarion County, and Cheltenham Township.
