Diversity by Design: Research shows that all students benefit from attending diverse schools, ones that are not segregated by race, socio-economic background, or mental and physical ability. By working and learning together, students from all backgrounds develop greater cross-racial and cross-cultural understanding, which in turn helps break down stereotypes and decreases bias and prejudice. MITCS intends to become a model for recruiting and serving students from a variety of circumstances to form a more racially, culturally and socio-economically diverse and successful school.
